The Future of Human Resources

The development of human resource management will see a growing use of AI in the near future. In fact, algorithms will help extract relevant information and insights from data, making all activities in the Human Resources area more efficient. This area plays a key role in business growth: a data-oriented approach to managing company personnel can be incredibly effective in simplifying and automating tasks.

As Jeanne Meister of The Future Workplace states, “AI will empower human resources and give them the time to work on more strategic issues. The opportunity is therefore to use AI to streamline HR processes and offer employees a service that is truly human-centered.”

For this reason, the webinar addressed the challenges and showcased the possibilities of applying Artificial Intelligence to the field of human resources. The various presentations highlighted the potential of methods and tools that can improve business processes related to the selection, management, and development of personnel.

Speakers’ Statements

Andrea Ardizzone, Secretary-General of Assintel, explains: “In the next two years, one in four companies will use Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence applications to guide their decisions, both strategically and operationally, as predicted by IDC in the new Assintel Report. Moreover, the HR function can derive enormous benefits from AI, as it can make many time-consuming areas, such as recruitment, personnel management, continuous training, and employee retention, more efficient – freeing up time and energy to focus on human relationships, which are the asset that makes everything else work.”

Luca Rodolfi, Business Intelligence Division Manager of SbItalia, declares: “Never before have we witnessed the emergence of AI with practical use cases capable of generating immediate benefits for companies that adopt it. An enormous number of use cases can be implemented, and the Human Resources area can gain specific benefits from adopting AI solutions: HR managers can enhance the tools they use with predictive functionalities and automated classification systems, which can help them make faster and more timely decisions; the maturity reached by AI also calls for particular attention to ethical issues, which are central in many business areas but are particularly critical when it comes to human resources.”

Francesco Epifania, CEO of Social Thingum, explains: “The Human Resources and training sectors are intrinsically linked and synergistic. The need to implement re-skilling and up-skilling programs to enrich or even redesign the skill sets of workers and business stakeholders, in virtually any business context, is increasingly felt by companies. In this context, in the pandemic and post-pandemic era, AI can and must play a key role in distance learning and blended modalities. AI holds great potential, in this sense, especially to support teachers and experts in creating and managing personalized training programs. I therefore believe that this webinar was a highly significant and valuable opportunity for all, especially for HR managers, who can gain significant insights to enhance their training processes and the added value for their businesses.”
