This year, among the winners of the call provided by the Lombardy Region for funding the IFTS (Higher Technical Education and Training), is included SIAM 1938. SIAM offers a training program aimed at anyone who wishes to acquire skills and competencies in the field of Business Intelligence and Data Science.
The training plan has a very specific goal, namely, obtaining a professional qualification that enables the development of technical skills and awareness. These abilities will be useful in the development and use of IT applications for robotics, automation, machine learning, and advanced manufacturing. The courses will be delivered online via the WhoTeach platform, developed by SocialThingum, ensuring remote communication among users in both asynchronous and synchronous modes. WhoTeach Live enables online classes to be managed in synchronous mode within a virtual classroom equipped with numerous functionalities, including interaction between users and teachers via chat, audio, and video calls. Moreover, it allows for uploading and sharing multimedia material. At the end of the program, students will be experts in programming and in developing applications useful for data analysis. Additionally, topics related to the economic, managerial, and organizational fields can be explored in depth, providing a complete overview of the technology market. There are 500 hours between classroom and laboratory or in-company training, plus a curricular internship of 500 hours, for a total of 1000 hours of training. Professional opportunities upon completion of the courses are numerous, ranging from the entrepreneurial sector to technology transfer. The course is scheduled to start on January 29, 2021, and is aimed at young people under 30 residing or domiciled in Lombardy, holding a high school diploma or a vocational diploma.
